Who We Are

Barry & Joyce International Getaway is a family run business offering self-catering apartments that are quite literally a home away from home.

Nestled in the Caribbean island of Trinidad, you can enjoy the beautiful sceneries, the lovely beaches, and the warm and friendly people.  Barry & Joyce International Getway provides cozy self-contained apartments to give you that place to rest when you visit the twin island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Located only thirty (30) minutes from the Piarco International Airport and just twenty (20) from the capital city of Port-of-Spain, you are ideally positioned to experience the best the island has to offer.

A trip to Trinidad would not be complete without a visit of the beach.  Within  thirty-five (35) minutes you can find yourself soaking up the sun’s rays on some of the most population beaches in Trinidad.

Maracas Beach

Maracas Beach is by far one of the most popular beaches in this region.  Located on the north side of the island, from Barry & Joyce International Getaway, you can be there in about forty (40) minutes, following along a scenic rainforest drive over the mountains.  It is a much loved beach by tourists and locals alike and the atmosphere is festive and calming all at the same time.  At the beach you can also be sure to find local tasty dishes and other delicacies to ensure your palate is well satisfied.

Caroni Bird Sanctuary

The Caroni Bird Sanctuary can be found in the Caroni Swamp,
under twenty (20) minutes drive from Barry & Joyce International
Getaway.  The Caroni Swamp spreads across 12,000 acres of swamp land and is the second largest mangrove forest on the island.  Visited by thousands of visitors per year, you can experience the natural beauty of the wildlife as you take a boat tour along the river.

Pitch Lake

Located in the southwest region, in the village of La Brea, the Pitch Lake is a place you must visit on your trip to Trinidad.  It is the largest natural deposit of asphalt in the world covering about 100 acres with a reported depth of about 250 feet.  It is indeed a natural wonder and visitors find swimming in the waters to be very therapeutic because of the sulphur content.  It would take you about 1 hr 30 min by car to get to the Pitch Lake from Barry & Joyce’s International Getway.
